Privacy Policy

What we collect, how we use it, and what we never do.

Effective 2026-05-17

RSPCT LTD ("RSPCT", "we", "us") provides a private brotherhood network for men. This policy explains what information we collect, why, how we use it, and your rights — in plain language. We do not run ads. We do not sell your data. We do not embed analytics or tracking SDKs.

1. Who We Are

RSPCT LTD is the data controller for information processed through the RSPCT app and website. You can contact us at support@respectsocial.com for any privacy question, data request, or complaint.

2. Information We Collect

Phone number. We use your phone number to verify that you are a real person via one-time SMS code. The number is stored and used for sign-in only. It is not shown to other users and is never used for marketing.

Profile information you provide. Display name, age range, archetype, identity mark, conversation style preferences, life experiences, core values, intent, and any free-text response you write during onboarding ("OmniMe"). All of this is shown to other brothers as part of matching.

Location. If you grant location permission, we use your approximate location (Balanced accuracy, ~100m radius, foreground only) to show nearby brothers on the Beacon radar. Location is collected only while the app is open and you are on the Beacon. We do not track you in the background.

Messages and conversations. Messages you send to other brothers are stored to deliver them. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted; we and our hosting provider can technically access them, but we do not read, scan, or analyze message content for any purpose other than abuse reports you submit.

Trust history. Each "I TRUST YOU" press and each engagement-trust award is recorded as a row in our database: who sent, who received, when, and how it was earned. This data drives your visible trust score.

Technical information. Standard server logs (IP address, app version, Android version, timestamp). Used for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.

Stealth state. If you place another brother in personal Stealth, we store who you placed in Stealth and when, in order to filter your own view of the Brotherhood. This list is private to you and is not shown to the other brother. If the system places you in Platform Stealth (see Section 6), we store the start and end date of your sentence.

3. What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect: precise GPS coordinates, your contacts, your photos, your camera or microphone access, advertising identifiers, your browsing history, biometric data, or financial information.

4. How We Use Your Information

To verify your identity (phone number). To match you with other brothers based on shared experiences and values (profile data). To show nearby brothers on the Beacon (location). To deliver messages and maintain conversation history. To enforce the Code of Honor and respond to reports. To operate, secure, and improve the service.

5. How We Share Your Information

With other brothers. Your display name, age range, archetype, identity mark, and other profile fields you complete are shown to brothers who match with you or appear on your Beacon. Your trust score is visible. Your phone number is never shown.

With our hosting provider. We use Supabase to host the database and authentication. Supabase processes your data on our behalf, under contract, and cannot use it for any other purpose. Data is stored in the ap-southeast-1 region (Singapore).

With our error monitoring provider. We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error diagnostics so we can fix bugs. Sentry receives only technical information: error messages, stack traces, the screen you were on when the error occurred, app version, Android version, and device model. Sentry does NOT receive your messages, profile data, location, phone number, or trust history. PII forwarding is disabled.

With our safety screening provider. To detect messages that may indicate self-harm, sexual content involving minors, threats of violence, harassment, or hate speech, every chat message is sent to OpenAI's Moderation API for automated screening. Only the message text is transmitted — no user identifier, no display name, no other metadata. OpenAI does NOT retain this content for model training or any other purpose (per their API terms). Screening completes in approximately 300 milliseconds. If a message is flagged as concerning, the message text and the categories that triggered the flag are stored in our internal moderation queue, accessible only to RSPCT's platform administrators. Messages that are not flagged produce no record. This processing exists solely to protect the safety of the brotherhood and to enable lawful response to harmful content.

With our push notification provider. If you grant the notification permission, your device registers a unique push token with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). We store this token alongside your account so we can deliver notifications (announcements, brotherhood events, replies to your messages). When we send a notification, the notification title, body, and your device token are transmitted to FCM, which delivers it to your phone. FCM is operated by Google LLC. No notification content is shared with anyone else, used for advertising, or retained beyond delivery. You can revoke notification permission at any time from your device's system settings; we will stop sending and your token will be removed after 90 days of inactivity.

For legal reasons. If required by law, court order, or to investigate violations of the Code of Honor, we may disclose information to authorities or affected users.

We do not share your data for marketing or advertising purposes, and we do not sell your data.

6. Stealth Mode

Personal Stealth. When you place another brother in personal Stealth, we store a record of who you placed in Stealth and when. This information is private to you and is used only to filter your own view of the Brotherhood. The other brother is not notified, not shown this information, and retains full ability to use the service with everyone else. You can lift personal Stealth at any time from the Settings screen.

Platform Stealth. When five different brothers independently place the same brother in personal Stealth within a 90-day window, the system queues that brother for Platform Stealth after a 24-hour grace period. During Platform Stealth (30 days), the brother retains read access to the app but cannot send messages, post answers, give trust, or modify their profile. This decision is automated based on community signals; we do not share who reported whom.

7. How Long We Keep Your Information

While your account is active, we keep your data to operate the service. If you delete your account, your profile and conversations are soft-deleted immediately (no longer visible to other users) and permanently removed within 30 days. Phone number is retained for 90 days after deletion in a hashed form to prevent re-registration abuse. Server logs are retained for 90 days.

8. Your Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Israel, you have the following rights:

Access. Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correction. Ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete information. You can correct most fields directly from your profile screen.

Deletion. Ask us to delete your account and associated data. You can do this from the profile screen, or by emailing us.

Portability. Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Object or restrict processing. Object to specific uses of your data or ask us to restrict processing while we resolve a concern.

Withdraw consent. If we process data based on consent (e.g., location), you can withdraw at any time. Withdrawal does not affect prior processing.

File a complaint. If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can contact us, or contact the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority (or your local data protection authority in the EEA / UK).

To exercise any right, email support@respectsocial.com. We respond within 30 days.

9. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR / EEA / UK)

We process your phone number and profile data under contract — it is necessary to provide the service you signed up for. We process your location under consent — you must grant permission, and you can revoke it. We process message content and trust history under contract — to deliver core service features. We process server logs under legitimate interest — for security and abuse prevention.

10. How We Protect Your Information

All connections between the app and our servers are encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Data at rest is encrypted by our hosting provider. We use row-level security policies to ensure each user can only access their own data and data shared with them. Access to backend systems is limited to authorized personnel. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we work hard to protect what you trust us with.

11. Children's Privacy

RSPCT is strictly for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the app, contact us immediately and we will remove them.

12. International Data Transfers

Our database is hosted in Singapore. If you use RSPCT from the EEA, UK, or Israel, your data is transferred outside your region for processing. We rely on standard contractual clauses (SCCs) and other appropriate safeguards to ensure your data is protected to the same standard as your local law.

13. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top and notify you in the app before the change takes effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy. You can always read the current policy from the gender-gate screen or the profile screen.

14. Contact Us
